Our mouth-watering and tasty jerk seasoning is an authentic unique blend of herbs and spices that can be used when cooking jerk style recipes, created to bring out the flavour of meat, seafood, vegetables and tofu. Jerk cuisine comes from Jamaica and is influenced by the cuisines of many different countries including Britain, Holland, France, Spain, East India, West Africa, Portugal, and China and involves marinating the dish in the seasoning and then slow cooking to perfection either over coals or in the oven
Use as a dry marinade or make into a paste with oil, citrus fruit juice or wine vinegar. Simple mix the jerk seasoning with some olive oil/juice/vinegar and pouring over your meat, leave it to marinate for 30-40 minutes then drain the meat and barbecuing as normal, all the delicious flavours from the seasoning will get absorbed into the meat. Virtually any kind of meat, seafood and vegetables can be cooked jerk style, add to marinades and sauces, its perfect for BBQ’s sprinkle on steak, chicken, prawns before grilling to add a hot spicy flavour.
