The flower heads are plucked and dried out of direct sunlight to ensure all the active chemical constituents are kept in the petal matter. After dying, the flowers are screened and tested for pollutants so only best and purest petals are included in this Marigold Flowers Tea. Calendula, also known as Marigold in honor of the Virgin Mary, is a Mediterranean native in the daisy, aster and sunflower family that is also grownas an ornamental. The bright yellow PETALS were once used as a coloring agentfor textiles and food, most notably cheese. Today, calendula petals are added totea blends, and tinctured or infused in oil for use in creams, lotions, salves,lip balms and other cosmetic items.
