Description
Native to Southern Asia where they grow wild in the foothills of the Himalayas, curry leaves have been cultivated in India for centuries. They are now grown in Australia and recently here in the States. It is important not to confuse curry leaves with curry powders, which are made from many combinations of spices and aromatics and many times curry leaves themselves.
Our curry leaves are dried from fresh leaves every week and have a more subtle flavor than fresh. Dried curry leaves have an appetizing aroma of roasted curry and the flavor is delicately spicy, faintly bitter with a hint of citrus. Try them in vegetable or meat dishes and in homemade curries.
